We are promoting our home town! We are delighted to announce that we have been appointed by VisitBrighton to spearhead their expansion into the Chinese tourism market. We’ll be working with Chinese travel agents and tour operators, including 25 who recently visited Brighton & Hove as part of a familiarisation trip organised by VisitBritain, to encourage them to include the seaside city within their group touring options. The agency will also promote Brighton & Hove to the growing number of independent Chinese travellers through traditional and social media channels in China.
Of particular interest to Brighton businesses will be the chance to become ‘China Ready’ through specialist training which we will be conducting later in the year. This training enables businesses to understand Chinese travellers and their expectations, and provides practical tips on how to adapt products and marketing for the Chinese audience.
2016 is an important year for Brighton as the British Airways i360, the world’s first vertical cable car, joins Brighton’s other unique attractions including the world-famous Royal Pavilion on the South Coast.
Howard Barden, Head of Tourism & Venues, VisitBrighton, said
‘We’re delighted to be working with Guanxi to drive visits by Chinese tourists to Brighton. Last year Chinese visits to the UK were up by 37% and we are very pleased to have secured expert help to capture an increased share of these high-spending visitors’.
